  1. When you think of the word “power,” what comes to mind? What is it that most demonstrates power to you?

  2. As we celebrate Father’s Day, we know that many parent-child relationships can be very complicated. What does it mean to you to think of God as our heavenly Father?

  3. God is our defender—who, in turn, can we be defending? In what ways can we come to their defense?

  4. The word “awesome” has come to mean something entirely different than its original definition: “extremely impressive or daunting; inspiring great admiration, apprehension, or fear.” With this definition in mind, what comes to mind when we describe God as “awesome”?

  5. Do you treat God with enough reverence? In what ways do you think you can continue to remember the sheer power of our God?
