Day 11

The Way Through Loss
Loss is a universal shared experience of the human condition. Death can come expectedly or tragically, and at some point in each of our lives, we will grieve. We cannot escape the pain that comes with the loss of a loved one. There will always be darkness that comes with grief. But that darkness does not have to lend itself to hopelessness.
While we will never understand God’s purpose and plan in everything that happens here on earth, it is important to know and understand that He uses all things for His glory, seen or unseen, immediately or overtime.
When there are no words to express the pain, take comfort in these words:
“But by means of their suffering, here’s cues those who suffer. For he gets their attention through adversity.” Job 36:15
This is not to say that God brings us mourning and suffering. Rather, when we feel the pangs of grief when it feels like we are overwhelmed by the darkness and cannot move from it, He calls us to draw near to Him.

Bible Reading for the Day:
Think and Act:
1. Have you experienced the loss of a loved one? How have you asked God to help you move forward from the pain?
2. In what ways have you seen God move in the lives of others through grief?
