The Way Through Betrayal
Being betrayed can be one of the most hurtful experiences to navigate in life. It can leave a deep scar that is not easily dealt with or forgiven. Deep hurt can leave us feeling alone and isolated, feeling like no one knows or understands our pain. Thankfully there are historical recordings in the Bible that we can look to for guidance and reassurance.
Jesus gives us the ultimate example for how to live, love, and serve. Jesus was betrayed by his friend Judas, who conspired with the chief priests and then led them to arrest Jesus.
Judas had spent three years with Jesus. He had learned from Jesus, shared life with Him, and saw miracles happen. Why would Judas commit such a betrayal? Some say he was influenced by greed due to the exchange of money for his betrayal. Scripture also references Satan’s influence in his actions. We don’t exactly know why Judas betrayed Jesus, but his personal pride became a stumbling block that was never dealt with... and it led him to turn away from his loyalty to the Messiah. Judas could have taken his internal struggle to Jesus, but instead, he kept it hidden and Satan took advantage of his weakness.
You can make a choice that Judas never made: you can go to Jesus and ask Him for forgiveness and power. Then, you can commit yourself to His teachings and watch how they can transform your life.

Bible Reading for the Day:
Think and Act:
1. What struggles have you been keeping to yourself instead of going to God in prayer?
2. Who have you hurt that the Holy Spirit is calling you to breakthrough your pride and ask for forgiveness from?
